Thanks for visiting VitalDollar.com! My name is Marc and I started this site for a few different reasons. First, I wanted to share my own thoughts on money and finances (more on that in a minute). Second, I hope to learn and improve my own knowledge and experience throughout the process of managing this site. Over the years I’ve had websites and blogs in several different industries, and my favorite ones, and those that I’ve had the most success with, have been on topics that I enjoy exploring in depth.
Many of the money-making opportunities discussed will be possible on a part-time basis (see my list of 125+ side hustle ideas), and some could also be expanded to become a full-time income. Regardless of your situation, there are always some great opportunities out there for you.
First of all, I’m not a financial expert or professional financial advisor. I’ve been a self-employed internet marketer since 2008. Prior to that I worked for a few years as an auditor, and even prior to that I had some entry-level jobs related to finance. I’ve been blessed to be able to work from home and work on my own websites. Over the years I’ve had all different types of websites, and I have experience with blogging, selling digital products, affiliate marketing, membership websites, and e-commerce.
When I started my own business it was a part-time thing on the side of my full-time job as an auditor, and I had just gotten married. I wasn’t happy with my income or my prospects for the future at the company where I worked, so I took the time to learn how to build websites and how to make money online. It took me about 1.5 years of consistent work and effort to get to the point where I felt comfortable leaving my full-time job.
For the first few years of marriage, my wife and I made a lot of sacrifices (mostly time) so that I could do something I enjoyed and make a better income. That has had a big influence on how I view making and managing money. Over the past 10 years I’ve seen that the internet presents all kinds of opportunities for making money, whether it is a part-time side hustle or a full time career.
If you want to increase your income, what is the first option that comes to mind? For most people, the thought is to get a raise at their current job or maybe look for a higher paying job. While both of those options can work, I think many people overlook great opportunities to start their own business. There are countless possibilities for part-time businesses, and many of them can easily turn into a full-time income.
My opinion is that improving your own financial situation usually involves managing your existing income better, and making more money. Both are important. I started Vital Dollar because I want to cover both of these topics and how they can relate to each other.
Learning to manage your money is critical because with poor money management skills it doesn’t matter how much you make, you’ll always be broke. But in order to meet aggressive goals, simply saving money usually isn’t enough. The combination of making more money and managing it better will get you to your financial goals much faster.
At Vital Dollar I cover topics related to basic money management and personal finance, and I also cover topics related to making money with various types of businesses. Most of the content on the site related to making money will involve some sort of internet marketing, because that’s my experience.
On a personal level, I live in south central Pennsylvania with my wife and our two kids (a daughter and a son). Working from home has become increasingly challenging with kids, but it’s also a lot of fun to be able to see them and my wife throughout the day.
If you want to improve your own financial situation I hope you’ll join me on this journey. If you’d like to get in touch with me please feel free to use my contact page.
